Home improvements
I love my little house, but it has been begging for fresh paint & new decor for ages. So I decided that I'd tackle it one room at a time during the winter months, when my garden and lawn are not begging for attention. I probably should have done a before and after, but I didn't think about it until it was finished. This is my smallest bedroom, which hasn't actually been a bedroom until now...fresh paint, stained hardwood, a daybed, shelves, (thanks Wanzer!) and some linens. I need to add a painting to the wall, but that is still in the works!...I will probably be shoveling snow rather than painting tonight, however!

How great to have a fresh new room. Your choice of colors is perfect as gray is always so elegant and is a neutral that goes with every color. Your pop of yellow is very cheery. I love what you have done. Do you sew on your machine? Shoveling snow? NO! Painting? YES!!! Happy creating...
Thanks Sherry. I was not sure what color was going to accent the gray, but when I found the yellow/gray quilt, I knew it was meant to be. I have both of my grandmothers' old singer sewing machines, and both still work but I have not sewn in decades. If I could remember how to thread them, I might give it a try! I won an award in 8th grade and kept up my skills until after high school.
I love the yellow and gray color combination. My husband and I just revamped our bedroom in those colors. Now...if we could only keep it as neat and tidy as this room is!

Kerri,
All the trouble you had hanging the window hardware was well worth it. This room looks great...the color is really wonderful; the quilt, pillows, shelving, lighting are all stunning. Can't wait to see your next redo!!!
Love your color. It looks grey but could be blue? Either way it is wonderful and it looks so crisp and clean and new. The lucky person who gets to come and stay!!
(Just for a little while, you know.)
